PRACTICAL ORGANISATION
Theory
-Theoretical
courses - 6 evenings of 3 hours in Brussels
Small groups of maximum 10 people working interactively. All material
will be at your disposal including course book, cards, documentation,
recommended readings and new on-line exercices

Practical
application
4 days at sea -
Application of the contents of the theoretical classes.
Crew of 6 students maximum on board.
Everyone will
participate in running the boat and in preparing course passage.
The final target is the ability for everyone to become a fully learned
skipper

Sailing trim and tack
Manoeuvring with engine
Entering and leaving the harbour
Manoeuvres - vocabulary - knots
Second Part - Navigation
Position by bearings (maps, buoyage, distance and speed, direcction
and angle)
Courses (tides, currents, dead reckoning, passage preparation
International collision regulations
Safety on board
Skipper - Responsability - Accidents - Man over Board - Heavy
Weather - Distress - Weather forecasting principles and outside
information - radio - usage of VHF radio. |
Practical application - 28 hours

Mooring the craft in different circumstances

Study and usage of numerous nautical documents

rate of the tuition is 980 €
(Sail for Belgium YC membership included)

The rate includes:
- 18 hours theoretical tuition in small groups of 8 people maximum
- 4 days at sea (spread at your convenience over several week-ends)
